Planning.

Mine & dh's 5th anniversary is this weekend. We are leaving the kids (first time ever for both of us to be gone from them) and going to Disneyland and then to Vegas. I am so excited. A little anxious about the kids, but excited.

Anyway, I am having to do some planning. I have saved my flex points. I am planning on having exercise points too. We are going to walk the strip and check out shows in front of the hotels. I am packing some, but not much to snack on. Mostly things I can eat in the car, b/c once I get somewhere I always buy food anyway.

I also have some food ideas mapped out. I know where I would like to "allow" some freedom. One is a carmel apple at Disneyland. Another is some alcohol in Vegas. I am not a big drinker so I think if I budget for about 3 lite beers a day I should be good.

Okay, anything else? I am taking my scale so I can still weigh in on Monday morning.

You all have any tips for traveling and staying w/in points?

No tips from me b/c when I go "on vacation" my brain and my stomach think I am too and I instantly gain 5#. Doesn't matter if I go to my mom's for the weekend or Florida for 2 weeks!

You cracked me up when you said you were going to take a page from my book on MILs. I tell my mom like it is--period, no ifs, ands, or buts. So yeah, MIL gets the same thing. I am blunt and I don't care. I'm just glad DH always agrees with me (he's a VERY smart man!) :)

Have fun with your DH and congrats on 5 years! That's awesome!

Hmmm.... I'm not a point counter, but on my last trip to Las Vegas I found that I was able to stay on track without issue. Almost every restaurant serves oatmeal for breakfast, almost every restaurant offers a steak salad or grilled fish entree, etc. I just had to remind myself to make the best choice, even if it didn't sound as appetizing as some of the other offerings.

You can do it! You sound prepared - you're even bringing your scale!
Wow!
